Suddenly scientists discover the way to do cold fusion which leads to renaissance in energy markets.
Our department is intersting in many ways of fusion of light nuclei. The cold fusion seems at this moment as a dead end, unless some new materials for reactors will be discovered. This could happend in couple of decades. But more likely will happend a breakthrough in different way of light nuclei fusion. Very promissing way is a cavitation. This method is based on creation of a cavity (or bubble) in some media like water. This cavity should be held under certain cirsumstances and lead to resonance. It will posses an activation energy for first reaction, which will be not the fusion yet. Through a cascade of reactions will lead this process to a light nuclei fusion. But the results of opening the new cheap energy will be as decribed in this wild card with couple of exceptions - the saftey threat will be minimalised by placing the plant under water in the sea (like the nuclear plant in near future); the energy consumption still increase and therefore the price will not be that cheap (according to lead of the market).
